1. What was the first fanfic you ever wrote?
That would be A New Law, written four years ago. I wrote that as the prologue of a multi-chap Marriage Law fic that never made it out of the outline phase, main pairing Katie/Marcus but they are not the pairing in this oneshot. No, they remain anonymous until the second chapter that won’t come. So, if you’re curious to know… I’m open to bribes of the chocolate kind.
2. Is there anything you regret writing?
No, nothing. I do regret posting certain multi-chap stories without knowing where I wanted to go with them, resulting me in pulling them from AO3/FFN. This one, this one, and this one. In the case of the last one, I had written a good chunk of it but the file got compromised somehow. So if you’re a genius that can help, it would be much appreciated.
Anyway, these stories will come back at one point or another. When I don’t know.
3. Name a fic you’ve written that you’re especially fond of & explain why you like it.
A Lifetime of Firsts. The characters became my babies I never had and it took me quite some time to finally say goodbye to them. I actually cried after posting the last chapter and setting the story to ‘complete’. Ultimately, it was also to the fic that burnt me out and killed my joy in writing because I couldn’t write them anymore.
So, I’m doing the thing any sane person would do, I’m working on my next obsession. I've outlined 'We're older now', a continuation of 'when we were young'. It'll be a story told in 8-10 chapters. I still have quite a few fics to post before 'when we were young' can be considered complete, though. So, it might take a while before I can post that.
4. What fic do you desperately need to rewrite or edit?
All of them! Hahaha… haha…ha... *goes and cries in a corner*
5. What’s your most popular fanfic?
View-wise: Taming The Beast. It’s straight up porn of the rough kind, and apparently, that appeals to people. Now to get them to provide some feedback.
Kudos: A Lifetime of Firsts
Not bothering with comments because I rarely get those.
6. How do you come up with your fanfic titles?
Song lyrics mostly. But if it were up to me I’d name my fic Untitled No. XX.
7. What do you hate more: Coming up with titles or writing summaries?
I hate them both. See question 6 about how I feel about titles. For summaries, I’d prefer to use something in the lines of ‘just read the goddamn thing and comment on it’. But alas, I've been told that’s bad form.
8. If someone were to draw a piece of fanart for your story, which story would it be and what would the picture be of?
Grumpy Old Men. I’d love to see that group of miserable old men brought to life.
9. Do you have a beta reader? Why/Why not?
No, unlike what some people claim, it’s not that easy to find one, let alone a long-term one. Especially if you’re perpetually in rare-pair hell I’m in (willingly, mind you). The few beta-readers out there seem to prefer big fandom names (authors and popular pairings).
I had one for a short while, but she had a life to attend to, so now I’m on my own.
10. What inspires you to write?
Everything, from a song to the old Turkish movies we were forced to watch when we were younger to books and articles I’ve read or am reading.
11. What’s the nicest thing someone has ever said about your writing?
You are by far my absolutely favorite writer, hands down, of all time. No one writes my 1 OTP (Marcus & Katie) like you and this story series is the cutest ever. Thank you and please keep writing forever and ever
That one had me grinning like mad for a few days.
And last week, someone inquired after a fic I haven’t updated in a long, long time, telling me they still checked it regularly for updates and asking me when it would happen. I didn’t think anyone read that particular story, so that was a nice surprise.
12. Do you listen to music when you write or does music inspire you? If so, which band or genre of music does it for you?
Usually, I have the golden oldies radio on, mostly 80’s, and if I’m in the mood for something else, I have a playlist on youtube with a wide array of music.
